My Love

My love

Spring comes forth like my young Love.

Eager, demure, beneath her youthful gaze hides unbounded joy.

As she moves, it seems all the wonder of Creation walk with her.

The stanza of this poem were bouncing around in my head for a long time. Its suppose to be a poem about a woman whose sheer happy presence causes you to burst with joy and enthusiasm.

My Love Part 2

Poetry

I sent this poem in for a competition being organised by the Elephant and Coral in Singapore last year July 2004. I got invited by the organisers to a wine, chesse and oyster party in September. But I couldn't go as I was already in Melbourne.

"My Love is like the Spring that blossoms"
Spring comes forth like my young Love.
Eager, yet shy, beneath her youthful gaze hides unboundable pure joy.
As she moves, the whole life-force of Creation walks with her
As she smiles, time itself stopped to admire her
The flowers blossomed when she kissed
The butterflies came as she sang.
Oh, how she enchanted me so.

But Winter has come, and Spring has died
And my young love has left me aside
The Silent Darkness is creeping inside
Making known its insidious presence with mocking contempt for life.
I sit in the cold for the night has come

Tsunami

See how it slumbers, the monster sea

One day it may awake and swallow thee

YMC December 2005

I wrote this poem on my balcony in Singapore after hearing the news of the Tsunami which seemed so bizarre. 300,000 people dead?

Start

Hi all,

I thought I'd have a blog where I can put up my "poems"- most of them don't match the traditional style though... hence the quotes.

I liked writing poems... short simple, encapsulating that moment of emotion: grief, happiness, thoughtfulness...

Its like a photograph into your psyche - a snapshot of the mind.

I've been writing the stuff since high school. Hope you like it.

The words just come to me, sitting on a bus, waiting for a train, somewhere in a spa. The words pop up and dance in my brain and I write it down if I can.

I don't see them as anything special. I just can. Some guys can do complex math problems. Some guys can scale mountains. Some guys can repair a car engine in a day.

I write.
